New Build Replica Home in Conservation Area

Located within a conservation area, this grand replacement dwelling project required Des Ewing Residential Architects to secure planning permission through a meticulous two-year process. Navigating stringent regulations and the sensitive nature of the location, the project demanded a strategic approach and careful consideration at every step.

Given the planning authority's resistance to new development along the main avenue, we needed to prove that the proposed dwelling would surpass the quality and architectural integrity of its predecessor. This involved multiple stages of consultation and collaboration, including extensive discussions with planning officers.

To illustrate our vision and address concerns, we utilized advanced technology, presenting detailed 3D models to show how the new structure would blend seamlessly into its surroundings while preserving the area's unique character. Particular attention was paid to the architectural detailing, especially the external brickwork, to ensure aesthetic continuity with neighboring properties.

By carefully matching design elements with existing structures, we aimed to integrate the new dwelling organically into the Conservation Area. This strategic approach earned the trust and approval of the planning authorities, allowing us to move forward with a project that honors the area's heritage and architectural integrity.
